The Tobacconists are Scott Foust and Frans de Waard. They first \u00a0played together as part of Idea Fire Company in their 2005 Europe \u00a0tour, following almost twenty years of corresponding. Now Scott Foust \u00a0returns to Europe\u00a0to show his feature film ‚Here’s To Love‘ and the \u00a0two start a new duo as The Tobacconists, which have no recordings \u00a0just yet, no myspace page, no face book. Be prepared for a little \u00a0surprise, but if\u00a0you know their mutual fascination for all things \u00a0with knobs it is safe to say that subdued minimalist electronic \u00a0landscapes will be brought alive through shortwave, synthesizers and \u00a0laptop. A cosmic thrill from the Ashtray Temple will bring smoke on \u00a0the water. Foust has been part of XX Comittee, Tart, Idea Fire \u00a0Company, Dead Girl’s Party and founded the Swill Radio label. ‚Here’s To Love‘ is his first feature film. Frans de Waard is \u00a0best known for his work with Kapotte Muziek, Beequeen, Goem, Freiband \u00a0and his Korm Plastics label, as well as the driving force behind \u00a0Vital Weekly, the oldest online newsletter for experimental music.<\/p>\n
